EXCELLENT Based on 99 reviews Posted on Google Dilshan PathiranaTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Cozy and friendly place to stay. Comfortable rooms. Amazing shower on the top floor. Just 2 minutes walk to the beachPosted on Google AnneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. First, we came here for coffee. In our opinion, it’s the best coffee you can get around Weligama! There we met Chinthaka, the barista and owner of the associated “Temple Tree Resort,” and because we had such a wonderful time and nice talks while enjoying our coffee—and the accommodation looked so beautiful from the outside—we decided to book a room (Deluxe Double Room) for our next visit to Weligama. The room was very spacious, the bed large and comfortable, the bathroom ultra-modern, and overall everything was very clean and tidy. It wasn’t cluttered and had everything you need. There is also a rooftop terrace where you can watch the sunrise in the morning. The restaurant looks super nice aswell (haven’t had food there tho). Overall, the atmosphere is super cozy, welcoming, and peaceful, yet still centrally located in Weligama with easy access to everything you might need. The team around Chinthaka couldn’t be more friendly and warm. They are so attentive, helpful, and kind, without being intrusive at all. I have rarely experienced such great value for money. It was definitely one of the best accommodations of our Sri Lanka trip. We can fully recommend it and will come back, if we’re ever in Sri Lanka again. Thank you, Chinthaka 💕Posted on Google JakeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Really enjoyed my stay here. The room was very clean, the facilities were great, and everything just felt easy and comfortable. The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, which made a big difference. Would definitely stay again.Posted on Google Erica RainesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Friendly hosts with clean and beautiful rooms. Not to mention breakfast on site with great coffee!Posted on Google Makeda DrennanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We loved our stay at Temple Tree. The owners are so kind and welcoming, and are always available to answer questions or provide water, coffee, or amenities. They run a great coffee bar on the property, which has the best Americanos we’ve had on our entire 3-month trip across Asia! The rooms are large and extremely spotless, and the beds are very comfortable (mattresses were soft and not too firm at all). While the bathroom is a “wet” bathroom (I.e. no shower door), we found that the shower head and drain situation were actually much better than expected, and there’s a water brush in the bathroom to help the floor dry faster. The outdoor patio is also very nice. The location is excellent and slightly removed from the busiest parts of town, so it was very quiet at night. There are some great local bars and restaurants within a 2 minutes’ walk as well, or it’s a 5-10 minute walk into the hustle and bustle of town. Overall, we loved our stay here and would definitely come back! Thank you to the owners for their amazing hospitality!Posted on Google Karan NarwaniTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. SCAM ALERT & UNSAFE — DO NOT STAY HERE! This place is a complete deception. On Google, it claims to be "Temple Tree Resort and Spa," but in reality, it is a partition converted into makeshift rooms with paper-thin walls. It is absolutely not a resort. We paid $65 USD for a "Deluxe Garden View," but the owner put us in a room right in front of the entrance with a view of a dirty backyard. When I showed him the booking photos, he became aggressive and racist (specifically against Indians), telling us, "If you don’t like it, get out of my property." We were exhausted from a trip to Yala and had no choice but to stay, but the hostility was terrifying. Zero Privacy & Safety: We locked our room on the second day, but staff entered without our permission and moved our belongings. It felt like a total violation. The next day, we had to explicitly tell the owner not to enter because we didn’t feel safe leaving our things exposed. We paid for breakfast but were too uncomfortable and distrustful to eat anything cooked by them; I only ate raw fruit to manage hunger. The only decent thing was the coffee service, but that is irrelevant compared to the lack of safety and respect. Summary: Misleading photos, racist owner, and invasion of privacy. Save your money and go anywhere else.Posted on Google Pauline Rose GutTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Amazing place, very quiet but close to everything. The staff is so nice, always with the smile and helping of you need anything. The room was beautiful, the bed so comfortable and big enough for two people, spacious room, big bathroom, and a nice balcony. I loved this place, a bit sad to leave.Posted on Google Camille LédéeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. The best place I’ve stayed at. Not too far and not too close to the center, incredible staff, really good cappuccino ! The room was so confortable, and they did some art on our bed when cleaning 🥹 I would really recommand a thousand time to stay here, hope to be able to come back soon ! I stayed in the suite and it was amazing 🙏🏼☺️
